NCDM ATTENDEES EXPAND
THEIR
KNOWLEDGE IN CHICAGO
|
|
The
National Center for Database Marketing (NCDM) Summer Show,
held July 11-13th at the Hyatt Regency McCormick in Chicago, IL, drew
marketing, database and IT professionals from all over the country as
well as from Japan, Brazil, Columbia, and other countries. The weather
was hot, but attendees, speakers, and exhibitors were able to stay cool
while attending sessions and receptions all geared toward the database
marketing industry.

|
The theme of this year's show, "Expand Your Knowledge
of Profit-Driven Marketing," helped participants in all areas of
database marketing do just that. With five carefully constructed program
tracks, attendees were able to focus on their particular area of expertise
and were also welcome to visit sessions from different tracks to gain
a broader knowledge of the industry best practices and new techniques.

| EXCITING KEYNOTES |
|

Ann Fishman
|
"Enlightening" and "engrossing" were
terms attendees of NCDM Summer 2005 used to describe this year's keynotes.
Ann Fishman, of Generational Targeted Marketing, gave
attendees a thorough breakdown of motivational factors for consumer age
groups from the WWII Generation to the 9/11 Generation on the opening
day of the show.
On Tuesday, Dr. Usama Fayyad, of Yahoo!, enthralled the
audience with his thoughts on what the Internet will do for the future
of marketing.
Joe Pine of Strategic Horizons wrapped up the NCDM keynote
presentations on Wednesday with thought-provoking views and examples of
how companies are staging "experiences" for their customers
to create lasting memories and earn trust and loyalty.

| NEW CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IS A HIT |
| New to the conference this year was the highly
successful NCDM Certificate
of Completion Program. The new program was designed to give attendees
a goal for their conference participation, a method for selecting sessions,
and a tangible sign off to show their managers back at the office. In order
to obtain a certificate, participants needed to attend at least one pre-conference
session, seven regular sessions and also meet with three suppliers on the
exhibit floor. Signatures from speakers and exhibitors were required to
validate completion. The program was well received by attendees, speakers
and exhibitors, due to the opportunities for greater interaction, networking
and questions among all groups. |
| INTRODUCING NEW TOOLS IN THE HALL |
|
Nearly 30 exhibiting
companies came to the show to share information and new products with
attendees. The traffic in the tabletop exhibit hall was continuous and
provided plenty of networking opportunities. Certificate of Completion
participants especially came to realize how valuable exhibitors resources
are to their overall knowledge of the industry.
